Lost.... and not found

There are probably much more important things that I could be blogging about tonight: graduation, leaving Starkville, moving to DC, praising God in the midst of the changes for his grace and provision for me... All of that will be soon to come though, have no fear! But before that, the story of this afternoon deserves a little time of it's own.

One of my Communication classes is Digital Communication (basically a web design class) and our final project is to make a sight for a client on Adobe Dreamweaver. I had been somewhat frantically working on this project during the time that the computer labs were open and had great plans to finish it this afternoon and check that off of my list. I took an exam at noon, finish it, walk to McComas, sit down at my computer, and.... can't find my jump drive. This was the jump drive with my entire project on it. Yea.

So, long story short, I search my car, room, and backpack to no avail. I then decide to just bite the bullet and start over on the sight probably staying up all night to do it. Not quite. I started at 3:30 pm and walked out of McComas at 8:45 pm with a finished website! I don't say that to brag... this was a "teaching moment" as my parents would say :) But before that moment, here is a preview of the website:
so cute :)
I really believe that God used this incident to remind me that He is in control over my life, the big and the small. Whether it's what job I will take, where I will live, or something as mundane as where in the world my jump drive is, God will work His good and perfect plan in my life!

The hymn "Blessed be the Tie that Binds" has become very dear to me lately. Its helping to remind me that the joy of Christian friendship doesn't stop if you aren't in the same place. And that God has been faithful thus far to provide these friendships, He won't stop now!

"Blessed be the tie that binds/ our hearts in Christian love/ the fellowship of kindred minds/ is like to that above...
When we asunder part/ it brings us inward pain/ but we will still be joined in heart/ and hope to meet again...
From sorrow, toil, and pain/ and sin we shall be free/ and perfect love and friendship reign/ through all eternity."

Sarah Shout-out

This post is a quick shout out for a good friend and sister in Christ, Sarah Hollinger! Today is her birthday!!

Sarah has an amazing gift for writing. She writes the "Compelled" blog and uses it to spread the gospel. Sarah and I have been able to get to know each other through RUF and ROADRUNNER. Her friendship has been an amazing encouragement to me over the past two years! Sarah exemplifies a servant's heart in her friendships and watching her love others challenges me to do the same.

So, just a short post to encourage you to visit Sarah's blog and wish her a happy happy birthday! Go read her blog-- I promise you'll be glad and you just might leave it a little more compelled.
