G. Craig

Myself, Kitty Kat, and the Birthday Girl!

My dear friend (and former roommate-- and future DC roommate) Grace Craig had a birthday last week! On Wednesday night we made the trek out to West Point to one of my favorite restaurants... a Golden Triangle original... Anthony's Good Food Market!

Anthony's has hosted many nights out for our friends and is always a perennial favorite. Anthony's is aptly named because no matter what you choose on the menu, you can't go wrong. Whether you order a steak, the Anthony Chicken Pasta, Crawfish Bisque, or a side of the Sauteed Mushrooms (Mary Virginia's favorite), you will leave Anthony's with a smile on your face.

Our local baker (Cat Randall) made a wonderful strawberry cake with a homemade icing! The cake was from the box so desert-phobes, take heart- you too can make a great cake with a simple icing that will help you dip your toe into the wonderful world of desert baking.

Cat Randall's delicious cake with homemade icing!

Homemade Cream Cheese Icing
4 cups confectioner's sugar
2 8 oz. blocks of cream cheese
2 sticks unsalted butter
1 tsp vanilla extract

Mix all of the ingredients and you're ready to go!
This icing would be great with a strawberry cake or cupcakes for a quick and easy Valentine's treat!
